1. Product Overview

  GRACYFIBER's polarization-maintaining coarse wavelength division multiplexer (PM CWDM) is an optical device that combines cost-effective wavelength expansion with stringent polarization state control. Covering a wide spectrum from 1260 to 1620 nm, this series employs an industry-standard 20 nm channel spacing and supports both ITU+0 (1270/1290...1610 nm) and ITU+1 (1271/1291...1611 nm) center wavelength grids. Manufactured using high-quality PM 1300/PM1550 polarization-maintaining fiber, it supports expansion from basic 3-port to high-density 16-channel (16CH) configurations. With low insertion loss and excellent polarization extinction ratio, our PM CWDMs are ideal wavelength routing components for high-order fiber optic sensing arrays, uncooled coherent communications, and test and measurement platforms.

Pain points solved/value: Features an extremely wide passband of ±6.5 nm. This gives the system strong resistance to wavelength drift, allowing architects to use lower-cost, temperature-controlled uncooled lasers to maintain excellent communication quality even in outdoor environments with drastic temperature variations.

Pain points addressed/value benefits: A minimum polarization extinction ratio (ER) of 20 dB (18 dB for 8 CH, 16 dB for 16 CH) is achieved in 3-port, 2-CH, and 4-CH configurations (Note: ER decreases by 2 dB with connectors). The system defaults to slow axis alignment with connector positioning keys and completely blocks fast axis light. This greatly simplifies the setup of polarization-sensitive test stages and eliminates measurement errors caused by polarization mode dispersion.

Features: Cascaded Optimized Low Insertion Loss Architecture

Pain Points Solved/Value Utilized: Employing a precise cascaded optical path diagram, taking a 4-channel module as an example, the signal sequentially passes through multiple filtering nodes from the input, with the insertion loss of each channel strictly controlled: for example, PM 1270 loss ≤0.8 dB, PM 1290 ≤1.0 dB, and the maximum insertion loss of the PM 1330 channel is only ≤1.5 dB. The maximum insertion loss of the entire 4CH module is controlled within 1.5 dB (with an additional 0.3 dB including the connector), effectively extending the transmission distance of the probe beam in the fiber optic sensing network.

Pain points addressed/value: Provides high isolation of ≥30 dB between adjacent channels and ≥40 dB between non-adjacent channels. Withstands continuous optical power input up to 300 mW and operates stably over a wide temperature range of -5°C to 65°C, easily handling high-power light source pulses.
