FAQ

1.What is a WDM-PON access module?

Traditional PON (such as GPON/EPON) uses a shared time slice (Time Division Multiplexing, TDM) for all users. WDM-PON (Wavelength Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Network), on the other hand, allocates a dedicated wavelength (P2P Wavelength Channel) for each user or service.

The function of this module is to multiplex multiple optical signals of different services and wavelengths onto a single optical fiber for transmission at the central office (OLT) or remote node, or to demultiplex them and distribute them to different terminals.

2.Why is it called "Multi-Service"?

It enables the simultaneous transmission of multiple heterogeneous services using different wavelengths within the same access network. For example:

5G fronthaul/midhaul signals (CPRI/eCPRI services)

Conventional Residential Broadband Services (FTTH)

CATV Broadcast Television Signals
