Product Description

1x2 2x2 Fused PM Fiber Coupler Polarization Maintaining FBT Splitter 1310 1550nm For EDFA Coherent Communication Power Monitoring Fiber Sensor

1. Product Overview

This product is a 1*2 / 2*2 Fused PM Fiber Standard Coupler, manufactured using panda-type polarization-maintaining fiber and FBT (fused tapered) technology. It can stably distribute optical power in two communication bands: 1310nm and 1550nm. It supports multiple splitting ratios, including 50/50, 20/80, 10/90, 5/95, and 1/99, suitable for main link splitting, monitoring taps, and power combining while maintaining polarization characteristics. Typical redundant loss is ≤0.8dB, extinction ratio is ≥18dB, return loss is ≥50dB, and maximum power handling is ≤0.5W. It is available in 1*2 or 2*2 port configurations to meet the application requirements of different system architectures.

2. Product Advantages
  • Multiple Splitting Ratios Available, Adapting to Various Application Scenarios Standards offer splitting ratios of 50/50, 20/80, 10/90, 5/95, and 1/99. For example, with 50/50, the insertion loss is ≤3.6dB for P-class and ≤3.8dB for A-class; ≤7.8/1.6dB for 20/80 and ≤21.7/0.4dB for 1/99. This allows for flexible selection between "main service + monitoring/tap" and "uniform distribution," making power budgeting very intuitive.
  • Low Redundant Loss, Less Pressure on System Power Budget Typical redundant loss is only ≤0.8dB, resulting in less impact on system OSNR and power margin when multiple devices are connected in series, which is beneficial for long-distance transmission and high-performance link design.
  • Reliable polarization-maintaining performance and easy polarization direction management Utilizing Panda fiber PM13-U25A polarization-maintaining fiber, the overall extinction ratio is ≥18dB, and the default connector key alignment with the slow axis makes the polarization direction in the system easier to unify, reducing polarization-related power fluctuations and making it more suitable for polarization-sensitive applications such as coherent communication, interferometry, and polarization-maintaining amplifiers.
  • High return loss and high directivity, suppressing reflection and crosstalk With a return loss ≥50dB and a directivity ≥55dB, the device effectively suppresses end-face reflections and port-to-port crosstalk, protecting the pre-stage laser, amplifier, and precision detector, and improving the long-term stability and signal-to-noise ratio of the system.
  • Good environmental adaptability and power handling capacity Operating temperature range -5~+65℃, storage temperature -40~+80℃, and maximum optical power handling capacity ≤0.5W, meeting the needs of long-term online operation in computer rooms, laboratories, and general engineering environments.
  • 1*2 / 2*2 Structure Options Available, Enhancing Integration Flexibility
Both a 1*2 structure can be used as a standard splitter, and a 2*2 structure can be selected for optical path switching, redundancy, and interference structure setup. This allows equipment manufacturers and system integrators to implement multiple optical path topologies on the same platform.
