Product Description

The PM Tap Photo Detector is a highly integrated device designed for in-line power monitoring applications within Polarization-Maintaining (PM) fiber systems. It integrates a precision tap-splitting structure and a high-sensitivity photodiode directly into the PM link. This design allows for the extraction of a small portion of optical power from the main link for real-time detection—while preserving the polarization characteristics—and minimizes any impact on the main link's transmission performance. The product supports a wide operating wavelength range of 1260 to 1620 nm; commonly available tap ratios include 1:99, 3:97, and 5:95, facilitating selection based on the specific requirements of different systems regarding monitoring accuracy and link loss tolerance.
