7. Detailed Product Description

The GracyFiber 19CH O+C-Band DWDM Module combines two wavelength regions within one passive optical module. Its channel plan consists of eight O-band channels from O284 to O298 and eleven C-band channels from C20 to C30, giving a total of 19 wavelength channels connected through a common optical interface.

The two wavelength groups use different channel spacing. The O-band channels are arranged at 200 GHz intervals, covering specified center wavelengths from 1312.58 nm to 1304.58 nm. The C-band section uses 100 GHz spacing, with center wavelengths from 1561.42 nm to 1553.33 nm.

From a system perspective, the common port allows multiple O-band and C-band optical carriers to be multiplexed onto, or demultiplexed from, the same optical path. The specified maximum insertion loss is 3.60 dB, while adjacent- and non-adjacent-channel isolation are at least 25 dB and 35 dB respectively. Directivity is specified at ≥50 dB, return loss at ≥45 dB, PDL at ≤0.2 dB, and PMD at ≤0.2 ps.

The optical assembly is packaged in a 120 × 80 × 14 mm black aluminum housing. G657A1 fiber with 0.9 mm loose tube and LC/PC connectors is specified for the current configuration. The module is designed for operation from -20°C to +70°C, with a specified storage range of -40°C to +85°C.

This architecture is useful where a system must route multiple precisely defined wavelengths across both the O-band and C-band while maintaining a single integrated WDM module.

8. Application Scenario

Application 1 — O+C-Band Multi-Wavelength Transmission

A transmission system may need to carry optical channels in both the O-band and C-band over a common optical path.

The module combines eight O-band wavelengths and eleven C-band wavelengths through the COM interface. At the opposite side of the link, a corresponding module can separate those wavelengths into their individual optical channels.

This configuration allows a single WDM platform to handle two separated wavelength regions without requiring independent O-band and C-band modules.

Application 2 — DWDM Equipment Integration

The module can be integrated into optical communication equipment requiring a defined set of O-band and C-band wavelength ports.

The 120 × 80 × 14 mm aluminum package, G657A1 pigtails, and LC/PC interfaces provide a defined mechanical and optical configuration for equipment-level integration.

Application 3 — Optical R&D and Multi-Wavelength Testing

For laboratory systems working with multiple wavelengths, the individual O284–O298 and C20–C30 ports provide access to specific optical channels while the COM port provides the combined optical path.

The documented frequency and wavelength plan allows optical engineers to identify the required channel during system setup and measurement.

9. FAQ
