PM Circulator is an optical device used to achieve unidirectional transmission of optical signals in fiber optic systems while maintaining the polarization state of the optical signal. PM Circulator is based on magneto-optical effect and waveguide technology, and usually consists of a polarization-maintaining optical fiber and magneto-optical materials. It has three ports called input port, output port and reflection port. The input optical signal enters the PM Circulator through the input port, and then is transmitted and coupled between different ports.
In the PM Circulator, the transmission path of the optical signal is one-way, that is, from the input port to the output port, and the reflection port is used to guide the reflected optical signal to another direction to avoid the backflow of the optical signal. At the same time, the PM Circulator can maintain the polarization state of the optical signal, that is, the polarization state of the input optical signal does not change during the transmission process.
